How do you get rid of an unwanted piano? You could try and sell it, but a piano’s value is exceedingly low in today’s world, even for quality antique pianos. You could try giving it away, but again, who wants a big and heavy object like a piano these days?
- 1 - You could strip the piano piece by piece and make several trips to your local waste centre to dispose of it yourself
- 2 - You could hire a van and some helpers to transport it whole to a local waste centre that will take your piano (not all do) and dispose of it yourself

Furthermore your piano won’t exactly go to waste because we strip the piano and recycle it, the wood and metal both being recyclable materials. Indeed we have to strip the piano because most waste centres will not take them whole. They are not easily crushed and sending the parts to landfill just isn’t environmentally friendly.
